Management Message
Our Service Conditions have been improving since 1965 when the Association and the Federation came into existence. The first charter of demand consisting of 22 demands was submitted on 17th May 1966. This was followed by submission of Memorandum to Union Ministers. The first mass casual leave agitation took place on 1st September 1967. The Historic Indefinite Strike of 1969 which went on for 17 days brought recognition to the Associations & the Federation. After that, we have had many struggles and strikes to achieve better service conditions and perquisites. Today, we are better placed and our Service Conditions are better than many other Banks.
Our Association has been a pioneer in many fields, and we have been publishing Service Conditions Book periodically. The last one was brought out in Dec. 2010. Since then many improvements have come about and thus we have updated the Service Conditions which also gives brief details of the History and evolution of various service conditions and perquisites.
We have also annexed details of various strikes announced and the result of the strikes in the last 49 years for your information. It is only through struggles and legal means. This could be achieved only because of each one of you.
As individuals or capabilities are limited. But as a collective unit through the Association, Federation, Confederation and the United Forum, we are very strong and we will achieve greater heights.
